St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and supercross are closely linked. Anyone who’s attended a race, followed the social media feed of just about any racer, or even watched a broadcast has seen a St. Jude presence in this sport. It’s seamlessly woven into all aspects of the SuperMotocross World Championship as a well-organized, effective, and worthy fundraising campaign for the entire sport. But the beginning of this partnership didn’t start in an office or boardroom. The roots first sprouted when Ryan Dungey was in one of the roughest chapters of his fledgling career.
